You are ready to read Chapter 6!
As
you read think about the reader response starters and what you want to write in
you diary.
When
you are done reading the chapter, write you response in your diary. Make sure
you write the chapter number and date at the top of the page. Hand in your
diary to be looked at it will be given back to you if you need to make any
changes.
Your
activity for this chapter will be to complete a character map of your favorite
character.
Instructions
for character map:
1.
Pick up a copy of the character map at the front table.
2.
Think of your favorite character in the
book as you read through the different items you need to write about in the
map.
3.
Write the character’s name in the head of
the map
4.
Write the description of the character in
the middle which includes what type of person they are:
a.
Kind
b.
Nice
c.
Bossy
d.
Mean
5.
In the left arm write a little about their
appearance
6.
In the right arm write who they are friends
with at this point in the book
7.
In the legs provide some details of what
they have done so far in the book that makes them stand out or makes them your
favorite character.
Be
sure to include complete sentences. If you are unsure about some of the parts
in the map think about what that may be for the person. For example if the
story doesn’t give enough detail about the character’s appearance think about
what it might be based on the details you were given.
These
character maps will be shared at the end of the day.
